On January 28, 2022, the standard release time for COVID-19 patients and the isolation period for close contacts were revised.
As of that date, new periods apply to close contacts and asymptomatic patients undergoing treatment.
In either case, close contacts and patients must do the following until 10 days have passed: monitor their health, including checking their temperature; avoid going to places with a high risk of transmission, including bars and restaurants; wear face masks; and follow infection prevention measures.
Isolation Period for Close Contacts
- The isolation period for close contacts will end after 7 days from the last day of exposure (the day of contact with the infected person), on the 8th day.
- Essential workers may end their isolation period after 4 or 5 days if they get a negative result from an antigen testing kit.
Standard Release Time for Asymptomatic Patients
- The standard release date of asymptomatic patients will be after 7 days from the date on which the testing specimen was collected, on the 8th day.
- There are no changes to the release time of patients who still show symptoms.
